On 29th March 2020, Disney Plus will introduce in India. Disney CEO Robert Iger announced this news on Tuesday. It is coming with the help of the company’s hot star streaming service in India.
“We are happy to proclaim that we are introducing Disney Plus in India through our Hotstar service on March 29. It will also be launched at the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket season.”
“Valued for the market and launched at a great demanding time for the IPL, the cricket league. We consider it an appropriate time. We also take benefit of the occurrence of Star in the marketplace and the huge subscribers that they also have.”
According to him;
They focus on the event of sports tie-in to take benefit from it. They use the interaction, and the technology consists of the billing that previously occurs to launch a service. And they also trust the highest ideal situations.’
However, the Disney chief manager didn’t go into the details. He stated that the company would renew the Hotstar application to “Disney plus Hotstar.” We analyze it as a prodigious chance to use the confirmed platform of Hotstar to introduce the new Disney Plus service in one of the greatest crowded countries.
Hotstar Plans in India
Hotstar currently is offering its Premium Plan for Rs. 299/month or Rs. 999/year. Hotstar also has a Hotstar VIP plan for its subscriber for Rs 365 per year. At present Hotstar is owned by Star India Network, which is a subsidiary of Disney.
Today 13 February 2020 Hotstar confirms this on their Twitter handle about the launch date of Disney+ service in India.

Through Hotstar and Disney Plus fasten together, the company is confident to take on the competition from present players in the country’s flowing marketplace. Especially Netflix and Amazon Prime, who have previously created several kinds of Indian material on their platforms.
The flowing service also faces contest with domestic streaming players such as ALTBalaji, Zee5, Eros Now, Sony Liv and Voot. While the earnings call, Iger also proclaimed that Disney Plus has up to now a total of 28.6 million paid subscribers after its entrance in the US on November 12, 2019.
